From a family of French nobility, Amaury de la Grange chose aviation in 1914. Having become a senator, in 1934 he diagnosed the weakness of the French aeronautical industry compared to that of the Germans. Although he became president of the Aeroclub de France in 1937, he was not listened to any more.
